Almada metro collision causes minor injuries and service disruptions

Two people sustained minor injuries following a collision between two Metro Sul do Tejo train compositions in Almada, Setúbal district. The accident occurred on Avenida Bento Gonçalves during the morning hours.

The collision caused significant service disruptions on Line 1 (Cacilhas to Corroios) and Line 3 (Cacilhas to Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA). While Line 2 continues to operate normally, transit on the affected lines has been restricted to specific segments between Cacilhas and Cova da Piedade, and between Pragal and the University.

Emergency responders, including nine personnel and four vehicles, attended the scene. The injured individuals were transported to Hospital de São José in Lisbon. The exact cause of the collision remains unknown.
