Almasa Cajic wins $2 million in Powerball lottery

Almasa Cajic, a resident of Lynn, Massachusetts, has won $2 million in the Powerball lottery. Cajic matched the first five numbers of the drawing, and by selecting the Power Play option for an additional $1, she doubled her $1 million base prize to $2 million before taxes.

Cajic intends to use the winnings to purchase two homes: one in Massachusetts and another in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The winning ticket was purchased at Robinson News Convenience on Eastern Avenue in Malden, a location that will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Her win occurred on the same day a $1.04 billion jackpot was won by a player in Illinois. Other million-dollar tickets were also sold in Arizona, California, Florida, and North Carolina.
