Almassora clamps down on illegal dumping while celebrating local cultural icons

Almassora municipal authorities have opened 25 sanction files this year for uncontrolled waste dumping in public streets. Fines range from €30 to €12,000 and are intended to protect public health, the town’s image and municipal resources.

The town will also host the Almassora Cultura 2026 gala from 18‑20 September, awarding six local cultural figures and organisations. Painter Carlos Pesudo receives the Individual Prize; the youth association Lluïsos Almassora is honoured for its Betlem Vivent event and role in the Passion Week; Caixalmassora receives the Cultural Soul Prize for its ongoing support of local arts; and flautist Roser Barberà is recognised with the Cultural Projection Prize for her international achievements.
