Almazán council launches construction of new artificial‑turf football pitch

The municipality of Almazán has begun works on a new artificial‑turf football field at the La Arboleda sports complex. The €733,514.10 project, carried out by Áridos y Excavaciones Ciria, includes burying a medium‑voltage power line, installing perimeter fencing, demolishing two disused pitches, and preparing a compacted base with natural aggregate.

The pitch will measure 100 m × 64 m, comply with Real Federación Española de Fútbol standards for senior and youth competitions, and feature dual markings for 11‑a‑side and 7‑a‑side play. The synthetic surface is a next‑generation, anti‑UVA turf designed to resist heat and frost, complemented by irrigation, flood‑lighting, drainage, and portable metal stands for about 80‑100 spectators. Mayor Jesús Cedazo and environment councilor Teresa Ágreda said the facility will prioritize local youth football and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by promoting healthy habits and teamwork among children and adolescents.
