Almería amusement park ride failure traps seven people

Seven people were trapped approximately 30 meters high after a technical failure paralyzed a ride at an amusement park in Almería, Spain, on a Friday night. The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 PM at the ‘Gigant’ attraction, a giant pendulum capable of reaching heights of 50 meters.

The group remained suspended for approximately four hours. Firefighters from Almería and Poniente conducted a delicate rescue operation, retrieving passengers one by one. The process required extreme caution because the gondola could rotate, meaning the removal of each individual altered the weight distribution of the structure.

Emergency teams reached the group around 1:30 AM, and the final passenger reached the ground by 3:00 AM. No injuries were reported. Due to the incident, a scheduled performance by the group Mestiza at the park's show venue was canceled.
