Almería deputy demands definitive date for AVE high-speed rail
Ana Martínez Labella, a national deputy for the People's Party in Almería, has demanded a definitive date for the arrival of high-speed rail (AVE) in the province. She criticized Ministers of Transport Óscar Puente and of Presidency Félix Bolaños for failing to provide concrete timelines during a recent visit to a new intermodal station.
Martínez Labella expressed frustration that government officials continue to repeat promises without meeting previously announced deadlines. She noted that due to current delays, the infrastructure likely will not be operational before 2030. The deputy also highlighted the province's existing railway deficit, citing poor service, frequent breakdowns, and upcoming service suspensions, such as the evening connection to Madrid scheduled for September.
