Almería fire prompts postponements of Spanish cultural events
A forest fire in Los Gallardos, Almería that left at least 12 dead led to three days of official mourning across Andalusia. In response, the municipality of San Fernando delayed its Sanfer Short Pride Edition, moving the final gala, street march, prize ceremony and related festivities from July 10‑11 to July 24‑25 after the Feria del Carmen y de la Sal.
The Concert Music Festival in Sancti‑Petri, Chiclana, also began its ninth edition under a somber tone. Organisers suspended all institutional speeches and ceremonies, issued a statement of condolence, observed a minute of silence, and proceeded with the scheduled concerts – including an opening performance by Malú – without the usual official interventions.
