Almería hosts exhibition honoring Virgen del Mar

An exhibition titled ‘Regina Maris. Madre y Patrona de Almería’ is being held at the Diputación de Almería until October 30. The event commemorates the 75th anniversary of the canonical coronation of the Virgen del Mar and the 525th anniversary of her appearance at Playa de Torregarcía.

The exhibition brings together historical, sentimental, and religious pieces that have previously been kept in private homes or convents. It features works by local artists such as Jesús de Perceval, Francisco García Giménez ‘Pituco’, and Carmen Pinteño, showcasing the artistic and patrimonial heritage associated with the patron saint of Almería.
