Almería implements AI migraine prediction and pediatric exoskeleton

Medical technology is advancing in the Andalusia region of Spain through two distinct initiatives. The PrisMax biomedical research project, involving the Torrecárdenas Hospital in Almería and several other Andalusian health centers, has successfully predicted over 2,300 migraine attacks using artificial intelligence. The system utilizes a digital application that analyzes patient clinical histories alongside environmental and lifestyle variables, such as sleep patterns, diet, physical activity, and weather conditions like temperature and atmospheric pressure.

In a separate development, the province of Almería has introduced the ‘Atlas 2030’, the first pediatric exoskeleton in the region. Developed by Marsi Bionics and donated by Fundación ONCE, the device will be used at the Arenas de Mónsul Child Rehabilitation Center. The robotic technology is designed to assist children with neuromuscular pathologies and spinal cord injuries, aiming to improve their functionality, autonomy, and overall quality of life.
