Almería launches social innovation and equality initiatives

The city of Almería is launching several initiatives aimed at social and corporate development. Through the ‘Almería Impacta’ forum, organized by the Almería City Council, Almería 2030, and the Foro NESI Foundation, 140 companies and social sector entities have gathered to create a permanent cooperation network. This initiative seeks to address the needs of vulnerable groups by connecting social assistance associations with corporate resources to improve employability and funding.

In a separate effort to promote workplace equity, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of the Province of Almería (ALMUR), in collaboration with the City Council and Cajamar, is implementing the ‘Almería Igualdad’ project. This program provides free specialized advice and assistance to small businesses and micro-enterprises with fewer than 50 employees. The service helps these companies develop equality plans and protocols to prevent sexual harassment, aiming to improve competitiveness and ensure compliance with legal obligations regarding gender equality and talent attraction.
