Almería prepares for Virgen del Mar Fair with charity drive and cleaning plan

The city of Almería is implementing significant logistical and social initiatives for its upcoming Virgen del Mar Fair. To support local social causes, the Almería City Council has distributed a record 35,000 decorative fans. Residents can acquire these items for a two-euro donation, with all proceeds benefiting four organizations: the Association of Children with Disabilities of Almería (ANDA), Proyecto Hombre, Comedor La Milagrosa, and Casa Nazaret.

In preparation for the festivities, the municipality is also launching an extensive cleaning and waste management operation. The city will deploy 78 workers and 34 vehicles to manage refuse. The plan includes the installation of nearly 300 additional waste disposal points, including 60 recycling islands and 100 specialized bins attached to streetlights, to prevent waste accumulation in high-traffic areas such as the city center and La Goleta.
