Almería's Port Authority and Andalusian Government Align on Port‑City Project

Rosario Soto, president of the Autoridad Portuaria de Almería (APA), met with Francisco Góngora, the newly appointed delegate of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería, to coordinate the main phase of the port‑city integration project. The meeting emphasized joint effort to improve port facilities and promote sustainable urban development that benefits Almería residents.

The same week, the regional government announced a new administrative team for Almería, headed by Góngora and supported by President Juanma Moreno. The announcement highlighted the province’s increased influence within the Andalusian cabinet, the collaboration between the Junta and the provincial deputation, and a commitment to channel investments into local municipalities.

Both initiatives signal a strengthened partnership between the port authority, regional government, and local institutions aimed at advancing Almería’s economic and urban agenda.
