Almirante Brown advances construction of new UNaB train station
Construction is progressing on the new train station for the Universidad Nacional Guillermo Brown (UNaB) in the Almirante Brown municipality. The project is being funded by the municipality's own resources and is intended to improve connectivity for thousands of residents, linking the university, the Burzaco Industrial Park, and various local neighborhoods.
Mayor Mariano Cascallares noted the historical significance of the project, stating it is the first new railway station built in the district in 115 years. The infrastructure plan includes the construction of facing elevated platforms, a pedestrian underpass, road and rail infrastructure, track renewal, signaling, ticket offices, administrative offices, LED lighting, and SUBE modules. The development is also designed to preserve the existing local tree and forest heritage.
