Sarmiento train strikes woman in Liniers, causing service disruptions
A woman approximately 60 years old was struck by a Sarmiento train in the Liniers neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The accident occurred near the level crossing at Cuzco Street.
The victim was transported in serious condition to the Santojanni Hospital. Emergency response efforts involved the SAME, firefighters from the Versalles station, Trenes Argentinos personnel, and the City Police.
The incident caused significant service disruptions, forcing trains to bypass Liniers station in both directions. Passengers on the affected formation were required to disembark and walk along the tracks to exit the area. Service was eventually normalized following the completion of technical inspections and the removal of the train from the site.
