Región Centro governors advocate for infrastructure and tax reform

Governors Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Martín Llaryora (Córdoba), and Maximiliano Pullaro (Santa Fe) met in Paraná during the XII Productive Development and Competitiveness Conference to coordinate regional economic strategies. The leaders emphasized the need to strengthen logistics, connectivity, and public-private partnerships to boost growth in a region that represents approximately one-quarter of Argentina's GDP.

A primary focus of the meeting was reducing production costs. Governor Frigerio specifically called for the removal of export retentions, describing them as a heavy burden on provincial production. The governors also expressed support for eliminating the PASO primary elections to reduce political costs and frequency of voting.

In addition to economic policy, the leaders addressed the need for stricter controls on political financing to prevent organized crime and drug trafficking from influencing the political system. The regional agenda also includes integrating artificial intelligence into productive processes and improving the management of the Hidrovía waterway to enhance port activity and reduce logistical costs.
