Almoloya de Juárez marks 200‑year anniversary with free concerts and community events
The municipality of Almoloya de Juárez will celebrate its bicentennial from 6 to 9 August with a programme of free cultural, sporting and gastronomic activities. Concerts by Mi Banda El Mexicano (6 Aug), El Komander (7 Aug) and María José (8 Aug) will be staged on the central plaza, alongside a solemn cabildo session, historical talks, a photo exhibition titled “Almoloya de Juárez en el Tiempo”, a reforestation effort, a neighbourhood football tournament and a pet‑friendly 5 km race. A food fair will feature traditional dishes such as mole de guajolote and pulque, and a photo‑contest will award prizes for the best historic images.

Security will be provided by municipal, state police and the National Guard, and the festivities will conclude on 9 August with a historic walk through the town’s main buildings and sites.
