Almoloya del Río ambulance catches fire on Libramiento Bicentenario

An ambulance belonging to the municipality of Almoloya del Río caught fire while traveling along the Libramiento Bicentenario, near the intersection with the Mexico–Toluca highway in the State of Mexico.

The incident occurred at kilometer 15, near the boundaries of Lerma and San Mateo Atenco. Two crew members were inside the vehicle at the time of the emergency but managed to exit safely, resulting in no injuries. The fire caused significant material damage to the vehicle.

Emergency responders from San Mateo Atenco and other regional services arrived to extinguish the flames and secure the area. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible short circuit in the electrical system, specifically involving the emergency lights, may have caused the fire. Traffic in the area was temporarily affected but was restored once the site was declared safe.
