Almonte organizes deer rutting observation in El Rocío

The Almonte City Council has launched the second edition of its deer rutting observation experience in the marshes of El Rocío, near the Doñana Natural Space. Organized in observance of World Tourism Day, the initiative aims to connect residents and visitors with the natural phenomenon of the rut, where male deer emit loud bellows to compete for territory and attract females.

Guided by environmental technicians, the program includes walks through the Paseo Marismeño and visits to the Francisco Bernis Ornithological Center in collaboration with SEO/BirdLife. The activity seeks to promote environmental heritage through respectful observation of the local ecosystem as the season transitions from summer to autumn.
