Almonte police warn of fraudulent parking passes in El Rocío
The Almonte Local Police have issued an alert regarding the use of allegedly falsified and manipulated parking passes intended for the El Rocío area. These fraudulent credentials are being used to access and park in zones designated for the upcoming 'Venida de la Virgen del Rocío' festivities.
Authorities have clarified that such actions are not merely minor infractions but may constitute the crime of document forgery. Police are conducting inspections and verification points at access routes and parking areas to immediately remove any altered accreditation. This security measure coincides with a period of high organizational demand due to the international pilgrimage events scheduled for August.
To manage mobility and safety during these large-scale events, the Almonte City Council has implemented the 'Plan Venida 2026', which includes strict traffic restrictions and parking prohibitions in the village of El Rocío.
