Almonte releases 21‑year‑old Virgin of Rocío album; Almazán to host first Heritage Night

The municipality of Almonte has revived a tradition by publishing a new commemorative album for the Venida de la Virgen del Rocío, 21 years after the last release. Titled “Almonte te canta. Desde la noche hasta el alba,” the album contains 20 tracks, including a recovered 1932 copla, and features more than 30 local artists such as Macarena de la Torre, Diego Benjumea and the Coro Mayor. Production was led by Francisco José Martínez and Javier Coronel, with musical direction by Fran Carmona, and the project was financed by the Diputación de Huelva, the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur and other local entities. The album became available on 6 August on over 60 streaming platforms.

Separately, the town of Almazán will hold its first edition of the Noche Blanca del Patrimonio on 22 August. Organized by the Almazán City Council and produced by Pellizco Producciones, the event will transform the medieval fortifications and historic sites into open‑air concert venues, offering a program of diverse musical acts. The initiative aims to bring heritage to citizens by combining music, architecture and history in a single night of cultural experience.
