Almonte's Rocío Jubilee Begins August 15 with Motto 'Sigue sus pasos

The Hermandad Matriz de Nuestra Señora del Rocío de Almonte officially presented the motto “Sigue sus pasos” for the upcoming Rocío Jubilee. The jubilee period will run from 15 August 2025, the solemnity of the Assumption, until 16 May 2027, Pentecost Sunday. The opening ceremony and Mass will be presided over by Bishop Santiago Gómez Sierra of Huelva.

This is the third jubilee granted by the Holy See to the Rocío devotion and the first specifically linked to a “Venida” of the Virgin to Almonte. The promotional poster, photographed by Exteban Torres, shows the Virgin of Rocío together with the Pastorcito in a new Pastora costume, echoing traditional devotional imagery. The Virgin will be transferred to Almonte on 20 August, where she will remain for nine months in the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, allowing pilgrims to obtain a plenary indulgence during the jubilee period. The event invites both longtime rociero families and first‑time visitors to follow the Virgin’s example and deepen their faith.
