Almwirtschaft Österreich celebrates 75th anniversary in Innsbruck

Almwirtschaft Österreich marked its 75th anniversary with a celebratory event at the Landhaus in Innsbruck. The gathering included representatives from politics, administration, science, and practice, as well as partner organizations from South Tyrol, Switzerland, Upper Bavaria, and Allgäu.

Key attendees included agricultural councilors Josef Geisler and Christian Gantner, various presidents of the Chamber of Agriculture (LK) from Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Carinthia, and Salzburg, and Johannes Fankhauser from the Ministry of Agriculture. Former EU Agriculture Commissioner Franz Fischler was also among the guests.

During the event, Almwirtschaft Obmann Josef Obweger highlighted the history of the organization, noting that the past 75 years have been defined by structural changes in agriculture, evolving framework conditions, and increasing demands that continue to present challenges for alpine farming.
