Alois Schwartz appointed to dual role at SSV Ulm 1846

SSV Ulm 1846 has appointed Alois Schwartz to a dual role as head coach and sporting director in an effort to stabilize the club during a period of crisis. The 59-year-old veteran takes over from Daniel Jungwirth and Murat Isik, who were dismissed following the club's recent struggles.

Currently sitting at the bottom of the Regionalliga Südwest with only five points from ten matches, the club is facing the threat of relegation to the Oberliga. Schwartz brings significant experience to the position, having managed approximately 600 matches, including 229 in the 2. Bundesliga and 119 in the 3. Liga. His previous tenure included leading Karlsruher SC to promotion in 2019.

Club officials expressed confidence in Schwartz's ability to make critical decisions both on and off the pitch. Schwartz noted that while the club is in a difficult situation, he views the challenge as a motivating task and emphasized the need for collective effort to overcome the current circumstances.
