Alone Season 13 contestants Aaron Barnard and Žiga Ogorelec reach final three
Aaron Barnard and Žiga Ogorelec were two of the final three contestants in Season 13 of the History Channel series ‘Alone’. Both participants utilized distinct survival strategies to endure the harsh conditions of the Beaufort Delta in the Arctic Circle.
Aaron Barnard, originally from British Columbia, focused on fishing and trapping to build a significant food reserve. His preparation included gaining weight prior to the competition to better withstand the scarcity of resources in the Mackenzie River Delta. His ability to remain calm and maintain a steady food supply allowed him to outlast many competitors.
Žiga Ogorelec, a biologist, relied on his bushcraft experience and a successful moose hunt to secure his position. Despite choosing not to bring a ferrocerium rod—requiring him to start all fires using friction—his ability to track and harvest a moose provided him with essential meat, fat, and hide. This resourcefulness helped him reach the final stages of the competition.
