Alpaca provides US stock trading infrastructure to SBI Thai Online Securities

Fintech firm Alpaca has begun providing US stock trading infrastructure to SBI Thai Online Securities, a local subsidiary of the SBI Group in Thailand. The partnership aims to enhance US stock and ETF trading services for Thai individual investors.

Alpaca will provide the necessary system foundation, including trade execution, clearing, and custody services. The collaboration also includes a stock lending service, allowing investors to earn revenue by lending their shares to third parties, with Alpaca managing the balances and collateral.

This initiative is the first overseas commercial project based on a business alliance with Tradeworks. While Alpaca provides the API-based securities infrastructure and market access, Tradeworks provides the front-end trading system and investment information platform via a white-label model. This allows SBI Thai Online Securities to offer these services under its own brand without requiring massive internal development resources.
