Alpaslan Teacher High School Alumni Reunion Held in Muradiye, Turkey

Alumni of the former Alpaslan Teacher High School gathered this year in the Ünseli neighbourhood of Muradiye, Van Province, continuing a long‑standing tradition. Former students from the 1980‑90 era, now serving as bureaucrats, business owners, civil servants, politicians, traders and artisans, attended the two‑day event.

Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, former provincial education director and Ministry of Education inspector Gıyasettin Kırekin recalled the school's establishment in 1948 and its role in producing a large pool of qualified graduates. Participants toured historic school buildings, took part in a music program at the Erciş District Education Directorate, danced traditional halay, and received commemorative plaques.

The reunion provided an occasion for former teachers, administrators and graduates to reminiscence, discuss future contributions to the community, and reaffirm the school's lasting influence on the region.
