Alpe Mohr owner announces rebuilding plans after devastating fire

Following the devastating fire in early August that completely destroyed the historic Alpe Mohr mountain hut near Oberstaufen, owner Anne Mohr has announced plans to rebuild the establishment. The fire, which caused estimated damages of approximately 500,000 euros, destroyed a facility that had been in the Mohr family for five generations.

In response to the loss, local hoteliers and restaurateurs are organizing a solidarity event on August 14 in Oberstaufen. Organized by the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHG), the event will feature food and drink sales with all proceeds going directly to Anne Mohr and her team to support their recovery.

Community support has already been significant, with a GoFundMe campaign initiated by a friend of the establishment raising nearly 30,000 euros in just a few days. Despite the shock of the incident, Mohr expressed a commitment to moving forward and rebuilding the landmark.
