Alperen Sengun focuses on shooting improvements with Houston Rockets

Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun is focusing on improving his three-point shooting during the upcoming NBA preseason training camp. After shooting 30.5% from beyond the arc last season, Sengun is working to develop a more consistent outside shot to help stretch opposing defenses.

Sengun is working closely with the Rockets’ shooting coach, Chip Engelland, whom he described as a “genius” for his attention to detail and video analysis. Sengun noted that his shooting is largely a mental challenge and that he is specifically emphasizing corner threes to improve his game.

Additionally, the Rockets are preparing for the return of veteran center Steven Adams from injury. Sengun expressed excitement about playing alongside Adams, noting that a dual-center lineup would make the team's job easier. The team also benefits from the leadership and playmaking of guards Fred VanVleet and Marcus Smart.
