Alpha Bank signs €40 million InvestEU agreement with European Investment Fund

Alpha Bank announced a strategic agreement with the European Investment Fund (EIF) under the EU InvestEU programme, unlocking more than €40 million of financing guarantees. The pact creates new financing tools, including collateral‑free microloans of up to €50,000 for very small and small Greek enterprises and specialised liquidity instruments for social‑entrepreneurship ventures. Georgios Tsagkarakis, head of business products at Alpha Bank, said the bank will continue to channel European resources into the real economy to boost competitiveness and sustainable growth. EIF deputy chairman Giannis Tsakiris highlighted the priority of closing the financing gap for smaller firms, while EIF CEO Marjut Falkstedt stressed the fund’s mission to strengthen an investment culture across Europe. The initiative supports Greek entrepreneurship, the Green Deal and digital transition, and aims to mobilise additional private capital.
