Alpha Prime Racing to switch to Ford for 2027 NASCAR season
Alpha Prime Racing has announced it will switch from Chevrolet to Ford to compete in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series beginning in the 2027 season. The team plans to utilize the Ford Mustang and will partner with Roush Yates Engines for its future engine program.
The transition will begin during the 2026 season, as the organization phases in Ford equipment for select races to allow the competition group to establish technical baselines. The team intends to maintain its two-car operation, running the No. 44 and No. 45 entries.
Owner Caesar Bacarella described the move as the “biggest decision we’ve ever made,” noting that the shift is intended to strengthen equipment and increase development capabilities through manufacturer alignment. This move restores a Ford presence in the series following the departure of other teams to Chevrolet.
