Alpha TR launches as Lloyd’s coverholder for transactional risk

Alpha TR Limited, a new Lloyd’s coverholder and specialty managing general agent (MGA), has launched to provide international transactional risk insurance solutions. The firm can deploy £40 million of capital per risk and offers Warranty and Indemnity (W&I), Tax, and Contingent insurance.

The MGA has secured lead capacity from AXA XL and paper from Aviva Syndicates (formerly Probitas). Alpha TR operates with an international remit, excluding the USA and sanctioned jurisdictions, and focuses on the private capital sector.

Alpha is an appointed representative of Specialist Risk Group (SRG), a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus and Temasek. The management team is led by Managing Director Richard Taylor-Whiteway, alongside Directors Dave Luckett and Laurence Tarr. The firm was acquired by Alpha Risk Holdco Limited, controlled by Taylor-Whiteway, on 15 September 2026.
