Alpha TV to premiere new drama series ‘Mia Gynaika’

The Greek television network Alpha is set to premiere the new drama series ‘Mia Gynaika’ (A Woman) on Wednesday, October 7, at 22:00. Starring Danae Pappa as Marina, the series follows a woman struggling to survive after the sudden death of her husband and the destruction of her home by a flood in Piraeus.

Unlike the Turkish adaptation ‘Kadin’, the Greek version follows the original Japanese storyline, meaning the husband remains deceased throughout the narrative. This choice focuses the story on Marina’s resilience as she raises her two children, Chara and Nikola, while navigating extreme financial hardship, isolation from her estranged family, and dangerous living conditions in the Tavros area.

The production features a cast including Vasilis Magouliotis, Thanasis Lekkas, Elisavet Moutafi, and Christos Chatzipanagiotis, with direction by Pieros Andrakakos. The series is described as a social drama centered on female resilience and maternal love.
