Alphabet and Amazon profits heavily driven by AI investments

Alphabet and Amazon have reported quarterly earnings heavily influenced by the artificial intelligence boom. A significant portion of their net profits stems from unrealized gains on investments in AI-related companies. Specifically, reports indicate that over 70 percent of Alphabet’s quarterly net income and approximately 65 percent of Amazon’s are derived from these investment effects.

This creates a circular financial relationship where capital used to fund AI development often flows back to these major corporations through cloud services and product purchases. While these figures reflect strong growth, analysts note that because many of these gains are on paper, they could create market volatility if investment values decrease.

Similarly, Amazon and Microsoft continue to demonstrate high demand for cloud and AI infrastructure, which remains a primary driver for their stock performance and overall market positioning.
