Alphabet survey: EV drivers plan holiday trips more meticulously
A survey by fleet service provider Alphabet indicates that electric vehicle (EV) drivers engage in more structured trip planning during holidays compared to drivers of internal combustion engine vehicles.
According to the data, 58 percent of EV drivers plan their routes before departure, compared to 46 percent of drivers using traditional fuel. The gap is more pronounced regarding charging; 56 percent of EV drivers pre-plan their charging stops, while only 21 percent of gasoline or diesel drivers plan their refueling stops in advance. Additionally, 44 percent of EV drivers pre-plan their breaks, versus 20 percent of combustion engine drivers.
Preparation also extends to entertainment, with 37 percent of EV drivers creating specific holiday playlists, compared to 16 percent of other drivers. A separate survey by Toluna identified ‘Haus am See’ by Peter Fox, ‘Tage wie diese’ by Die Toten Hosen, and ‘Ab in den Süden’ by Buddy & O Jay as popular holiday songs.
