Alphabet launches $25 billion AI‑linked bond offering
Alphabet Inc. is marketing a U.S. investment‑grade bond offering of up to $25 billion to fund its expanding artificial‑intelligence infrastructure. The deal is structured in up to ten tranches with maturities ranging from two to 40 years, and the longest‑tenor tranche is priced at a premium of roughly 1.55 percentage points above U.S. Treasury yields. Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo are acting as joint coordinators.
The company raised its 2026 capital‑expenditure forecast to as much as $205 billion, prompting the new debt issuance after having sold more than $50 billion of bonds and $85 billion of equity earlier in the year. Investor demand has been strong, with about $115 billion of orders recorded for the offering. The bond sale follows a period of muted appetite that improved in early August as Treasury yields rose.
