Alphen aan den Rijn resident wins lottery prize following 2011 shooting trauma

Myranda, a resident of Alphen aan den Rijn, has won a 25,000 euro street prize from the Postcode Loterij. The windfall arrives at a critical time for her as she struggles with the long-term effects of a traumatic event.

In 2011, Myranda was working in a flower shop at the De Ridderhof shopping center when a mass shooting occurred, resulting in six deaths. While she has attempted to continue working through therapy, the mental and physical symptoms from the trauma have recently made it impossible for her to maintain employment. She stated that the prize money will allow her to take a necessary time-out and find some peace.
