Canada captain Alphonso Davies, the 25‑year‑old Bayern Munich left‑back, is racing to recover from a hamstring injury suffered in Bayern's Champions League match on May 6. The injury, confirmed by Bayern on May 8, follows a series of setbacks including an ACL tear earlier in 2025. Davies missed Canada's 2–0 friendly win over Uzbekistan and is a doubt for the World Cup opening match against Bosnia & Herzegovina on June 12.
