BMW Alpina develops new flagship sedan based on 7 Series

BMW is developing the first new model for the revived Alpina brand, a luxury sedan based on the updated BMW 7 Series. Spy shots of a prototype near the Nürburgring reveal several distinctive design elements intended to differentiate the Alpina from the standard 7 Series.

Key visual changes include amber LED daytime running lights, which may become a signature for the brand, and a kidney grille featuring three horizontal slats instead of the seven found on standard models. The prototype also features unique lower bumper designs and oval-shaped exhaust tips, a traditional Alpina trait.

While specific technical details remain unconfirmed, the vehicle is expected to utilize a powerful powertrain, potentially building upon the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the M760 xDrive. The new Alpina model is anticipated to be unveiled in 2025, positioning itself as a high-performance luxury alternative within the BMW Group portfolio.
