Alpine Air Ambulance helicopter targeted by laser in Reinach

An Alpine Air Ambulance (AAA) rescue helicopter was targeted by a green laser beam during a medical emergency mission in Reinach, Canton Aargau, on Saturday evening. The incident occurred during the landing phase, which the rescue unit described as “highly dangerous” because it is one of the most critical stages of flight requiring maximum crew concentration.

While the crew successfully completed the mission, three of the four members suffered minor eye injuries and required medical treatment. The Aargau Cantonal Police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible, though no suspects have been apprehended yet.

Alpine Air Ambulance stated that such laser attacks constitute a dangerous interference with aviation and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
