Alpine Canada names Andrew Baker as next CEO

Andrew Baker has been appointed as the next president and CEO of Alpine Canada. He is set to begin his tenure in September, succeeding Thérèse Brisson, who has transitioned to the role of CEO at Skate Canada.

Baker brings extensive experience from the Canadian Olympic Committee, where he served for 21 years, most recently as the chief external affairs officer. His leadership comes at a time of significant federal investment in Canadian athletics; the government recently announced a $755 million injection into high-performance sport over the next five years, with $660 million of that earmarked for national sport organizations.

Alpine Canada manages approximately 15,000 registered racers and 5,500 coaches across 200 clubs nationwide. The organization oversees alpine, para alpine, and ski cross disciplines. Baker’s term begins at the start of the Olympic quadrennial leading toward the 2030 Winter Games in the French Alps.
