Alpine club presentations highlight Himalayan and Tyrolean expeditions

The Leutkirch Alpine Club (DAV) recently held its annual mountain show, featuring a presentation by tour leader Niclas Sonntag regarding his November 2024 expedition to Ama Dablam in Nepal. Sonntag detailed the technical challenges of climbing the peak, which stands at over 6,800 meters, and emphasized the necessity of local porters to manage equipment weighing 40 kilograms.

Additionally, the DAV Fulda section has scheduled a live lecture by extreme climber and photographer Heinz Zak for November 13. Zak will present ‘Tirol – Magie der Berge’ (Tyrol – Magic of the Mountains), showcasing his experiences across the Tyrolean landscape through photography and video sequences covering climbing, canyoning, and alpine scenery.
