Alpine regions experience seasonal weather shifts
Seasonal weather transitions are occurring across the Alpine regions of Austria and Germany. In Kärnten, Austria, meteorologist Martin Ortner of GeoSphere Austria reports that while high-altitude areas above 2,400 meters have seen light snowfall, the valleys remain in an autumnal phase with temperatures between 13 and 18 degrees Celsius.
Weather patterns in Kärnten are expected to be variable. Following a period of sunny, golden autumn weather, forecasts indicate a shift toward more unsettled conditions. The upcoming weekend is expected to feature a mix of sun, clouds, and fog, with occasional light rain showers, particularly in Upper Kärnten.
In the Allgäu region of Germany, the hiking season is also drawing to a close as weather conditions shift toward typical autumn patterns, leading to a transition from outdoor activities to indoor seasonal habits.
