Alpine selects Paul Aron to replace Pierre Gasly for Monza practice
Alpine has announced that reserve driver Paul Aron will replace Pierre Gasly for the first practice session (FP1) at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix in Monza. This move allows the team to fulfill regulatory requirements that mandate rookie drivers participate in a set number of practice sessions throughout the season.
Aron, an Estonian rookie, will drive the A526 machine to provide feedback on the team’s latest upgrade package. He intends to use the session to compare real-world data with his previous work in the simulator. Following the track session, Aron is scheduled to work at the Alpine base in Enstone on Friday night to assist with fine-tuning the car's setup for the remainder of the weekend.
Gasly will return to the cockpit for the second practice session (FP2).
