Alpine skiing venues Val Gardena and Cortina prepare for World Cup events

FIS technicians conducted inspections in Val Gardena to prepare for upcoming World Cup events and the 2031 World Championships. The men's World Cup speed events are scheduled for December 18-19, featuring a super-G on Friday and a classic descent on Saturday. A new scheduling adjustment will see races begin at 12:00 to ensure more consistent lighting conditions for all competitors.

In Cortina d'Ampezzo, preparations are underway for the women's World Cup at the Olympia delle Tofane track. Scheduled for January 15-17, the event will include two descents and a super-G. The countdown follows a successful FIS inspection and builds on the track's recent history hosting Olympic and Paralympic disciplines.
