Alpine targets niche exclusivity and North American expansion

Alpine CEO Philippe Krief has outlined a long-term strategy for the French automaker to prioritize exclusivity and profitability over high-volume production. The company aims to maintain a niche market position, targeting an annual production volume of approximately 15,000 vehicles, a scale Krief noted is closer to Ferrari than to Porsche.

Regarding its product lineup, Alpine currently offers the electric A290 and A390 models, with a fully electric A110 in development. While the company may eventually expand its range to six models, Krief indicated that significant new model additions are unlikely within the next four to five years, with further expansion potentially occurring after 2030.

Geographically, Alpine plans to expand its presence in Europe before entering the North American market. The brand expects to become available in Canada within two to three years, followed by an entry into the United States. Although the U.S. market is a major hub for sports cars, Alpine is not currently developing large SUVs for the region due to a lack of suitable platforms within the Renault Group.
