Alpine to launch A290 electric hot hatch in Japan

Alpine Japon has announced that the brand’s first electric vehicle (EV) hot hatch, the Alpine A290, will be released in Japan on November 19. This model marks the beginning of the brand's electrification era.

The Japanese specification features a powertrain producing 218 PS and 300 Nm of torque, powered by a 52 kWh battery with an estimated driving range of 360 km on a single charge. The vehicle is equipped with a dedicated Alpine sports chassis, multi-link rear suspension, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Designed with a driver-centric philosophy inherited from the Alpine A110, the interior includes a D-shaped sports steering wheel and a high console with button-style transmission selectors. Digital features include a 10-inch digital instrument panel and a 10-inch multimedia system called ‘Alpine Portal’ which integrates Google services.
