alply weather app optimized for iPhone Duo

Vienna-based indie developer Sebastian Adam has released an update for the alply rain radar app, specifically optimizing it for the new iPhone Duo. Version 27.0.1, now available on the Apple App Store, adapts to the device's various usage modes.

The app provides a compact radar view on the external display, while the unfolded state shows the radar and forecast side-by-side. In tabletop mode, the interface accounts for the device's fold. The app utilizes open weather data from GeoSphere Austria to provide 15-minute interval updates on precipitation.

New features include integrated live webcams from foto-webcam.eu, allowing users to compare forecasts with real-time conditions within a 15-kilometer radius. The app offers free access to radar, forecasts, and webcams without ads or tracking. Users can opt for a Pro subscription at 5.99 euros per year or a one-time purchase of 19.99 euros.
