Alsace begins construction on EuroVelo 5 cycling path

Preparatory work has commenced on a new 3 km cycling path running parallel to the RD201 between Habsheim, Dietwiller, and Schlierbach in Alsace. The project involves clearing trees and hedges to make way for a 3-meter-wide track.

The initiative aims to improve safety for daily commuters on a road where motorists frequently travel at speeds of 80 to 90 km/h. Beyond local safety, the project will fill a missing link in the EuroVelo 5 long-distance cycling route.
