Alsace residents adapt to record fuel prices

Residents in the Alsace region of France are adjusting their habits in response to record-high fuel prices. Drivers are reporting significant changes in behavior, including more cautious driving to improve fuel efficiency, reducing leisure travel, and utilizing carpooling to manage costs.

According to Ifop, approximately 47% of motorists have reportedly given up visiting relatives due to the expense. Consumers are also increasingly active in searching for the lowest prices, often using government websites to compare rates between stations. In some areas, such as Mulhouse, price disparities between different stations have reached as much as €0.40 per liter.
