Alsalus launches fundraising campaign for mobile breast cancer screenings in Costa Rica

The Health Alliance, known as Alsalus, has initiated a national fundraising campaign in Costa Rica to sustain its mobile mammography services. The campaign seeks contributions from individuals, civic organizations, and corporations to ensure the continued operation of two specialized mobile units.

These units provide free screenings to women in remote areas who face geographical or financial barriers to accessing urban hospitals and specialized clinics. To date, Alsalus has performed more than 70,000 free mammograms. The initiative coincides with international breast cancer awareness month, emphasizing the importance of early detection.
